Dealerships are not short on tools. Most stores already run a CRM, a DMS, an F&I platform and a handful of point solutions. What they are short on is a complete picture of what is actually happening in the store, while there is still time to act on it.

That gap is why we started AxleAuto, and it is what this blog is about.

Why we are building AxleAuto

For decades, automotive technology has lived in two silos. Tech companies build the software but never run the dealership. Dealer groups run the dealership but never build the software. The seam between them is where the customer experience falls through.

We put both on the same team. Our engineers have spent their careers building automotive technology companies, and they work alongside a dealer principal who owns and runs stores and has spent twenty years on the floor. When engineering ships a feature, it can be in use on the service drive the same afternoon.

Dealerships were optimized for transactions, not intelligence. We think that is the part worth changing.

What AI changes on the floor

We built the platform around the AI instead of bolting a chatbot onto the old process. In practice that looks like:

  • Every lead engaged instantly, with coverage around the clock, and personalized follow-up across email, text and voice so no lead is left behind.
  • Every call, email and text reviewed for process and policy, so managers coach from data instead of gut feel.
  • A nightly audit of the operation, so you start the day knowing exactly where to focus.

Your team stays in control throughout. The AI starts by surfacing problems and suggesting guardrails, then handles execution with your approval, and only runs a process on its own once you are ready, escalating whenever a person needs to make the call.

What you will find here

This blog is where we will share what we learn. Expect practical posts for dealer principals, general managers, BDC and service managers: speed to lead, service retention, missed calls, CRM hygiene, coaching, and what AI does well (and where it still needs a human).

If there is a problem in your store you want us to dig into, tell us about it. The best posts here will start with a real question from the floor.
